Hourly vs day rates: how pricing works

5 min read

Bookings are priced by the day, with one full day as the minimum — there is no hourly rate to compare against. That is a deliberate choice rather than an upsell, and it is worth understanding before you compare us with anyone quoting by the hour.

Why not hourly

An hourly booking does not work for the person doing it. He still travels to you, still blocks the surrounding time, and still cannot take anything else that day — so an hour priced honestly ends up close to a day anyway, and priced dishonestly it quietly becomes someone's unpaid afternoon.

Pricing by the day says that out loud instead of hiding it in a rate card.

What a day covers

  • Ten billable hours, arranged however suits the occasion
  • One full day as the minimum booking
  • Consecutive days can be added for a trip or a weekend
  • The rate is shown as a range, because real bookings vary

What moves the number

The country you book in is the largest factor by far: the rate is built from a fixed service component plus a local-market component scaled to that country's average pay. Then the number of days, and any activity expenses, travel or special arrangements agreed in advance.

What does not move it: who you choose, the kind of experience, the venue, or your preferred time. Those shape the request, not the price.

Comparing quotes honestly

If someone quotes you an hourly rate, multiply it out across the time they will actually be committed, including travel. That is the number to compare.

Whatever the estimate shows, the full quote — his fee, duration, activity costs and travel — is confirmed with you before anything is agreed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book just two hours?

No. One full day is the minimum, because a shorter booking is not viable for the person doing it and pricing it that way would be misleading.

Why is the price a range?

Because real bookings vary with the person, the city and the specifics. A single figure would move later.

Does a longer booking cost less per day?

The estimate multiplies the day rate by the number of days. Anything beyond that is agreed with you in writing before you confirm.
